Overall Reflection.

Now having finished this project, all ready to submit. I'm overall very pleased with out everything has turned out. Perhaps even one of my favourite projects I have done throughout my whole university experience. Nothing I did in this project ever felt like a chore, which can only be a good thing! I learnt a lot during this project, including learning new software and learning some new photography techniques.
This project has truly given me back my motivation, which I lost after the first semester. This really helped bring my creativity and motivation to continue to create and explore.

Poster and Website

Here are my finished promotional poster and website design. I tried to keep all my final displays cohesive with one another, like using the same font and colour throughout each design. Also using the same polaroid style photos in the magazine and poster publications.

I really like how these have turned out and how they all work well with one another. I think displaying my finished work really brings it all together as a 'brand', which is something I aimed todo from the beginning.
I also feel like I now have everything set up and ready to go to actually go through my plan of eventually selling some of these products!

Presenting my work...

I got slightly stuck on how exactly I could effectively (and artistically) present my final works, without just submitting a loaf of JPEGS. So after discussion with Ryan I came to the conclusion of creating some magazine and website mock ups. Therefor creating a more interesting way to display my final work and ideas.

I quickly mocked up the following magazine spread, using Indesign. I like how it turned out, however I would like to push it more and bring it to a higher standard. I also plan to create a few other magazine spreads, promotional posters and a website mockup, all being cohesive with one another.

Previously I had created some posters, with the pictures I took of the phone covers. However I do not like how they turned out and hope to progress and come up with a better poster.

Reflection
As my project work begins to finally come together, being able to see all my work brought together is really rewarding. It also gives me hope that I can actually create a body of work I am happy with and will be keen to show off to people. Which is great! It's also something which doesn't happen to me often with my own work, I can be very hard on myself, particularly with my art work. Which is never a good thing and something I'm constantly trying to improve on.

T-shirt Designs!

I'm also really keen to implement my designs onto clothing too, rather than getting anything printed I plan to just implement the designs digitally.
So I went out and took pictures of Ryan in a plain tshirt and took to photoshop to implement the designs. I'm pretty pleased with how these turned out!

Reflection
Even though these tshirt designs are simple, I'm really pleased with how they look so far. Creating designs for apparel is something I've always had a huge interest in and I think it's really special that somebody, who perhaps doesn't even know you, would want to wear your art. Therefor this thought really spurs me on into creating more designs and graphics fit for apparel.

Fruit/Veg printing - Media Test

I decided to have ago at printing, with fruit and veg! I know from previous experience you can get some pretty interesting results from printing with different objects, with different textures etc. I am a huge lover of mixed media and incororate it into as many projects as possible. I think mixed media just brings art and design up to a another level and gives an added interest to the work too.

These are how the prints turned out, I used black acrylic paint, mainly for the fact it dries pretty fast. Meaning I can quickly scan them all and get them into my computer.

I then came up with these phone case ideas from the initial prints I did!
I used image trace again to help transform the scans into vectors, then played around with the shapes a bit, tidying them up etc. Then eventually putting colours on them.

Phone Cases!

I also got a few phone cases printed off too! I would have liked to get more designs printed off but it would cost too much money, so I chose some of my favourite designs.

Reflection
Looking back through these pictures of my finished designs on the product, really fills me with great joy. Developing a project like this, is something I have wanted to undertake for a long long time. It is also something I have never really done before, I've also learnt how to use Illustrator which is now my go to programme. It's great!
I no cannot wait to develop this project even further and begin to start selling my designs and these products!

Badges and Stickers!

I decided to get some designs and logos printed off onto a couple different projects, just to see what they would look like. Also an opportunity to take some photographs and implement them into my final work.
I really like how they have turned out and hope to get more printed off in the future!

Reflection
As I begin to expand my designs and logos on other products such as the stickers and badges it really excites me for all the possibilities this project could bring. Therefor I am very excited and these products have encouraged me to keep continuing with the project and continue to develop and expand my ideas and plans.

More Logos

After receiving positive feedback and pushing my logo designs further, that's what I did!

They are still quite similar but with different aspects put into them. Still playing around with the bee/honey idea.

Water Barbling! - Media Test.

I've been really missing doing 'traditional' art, particularly the kind of art you did in primary school, where you just got to make a mess! So I decided to do some water marbling, with special oil based inks. Even though I did this for fun, I also planned to some how implement these marblings in my project.
I had great fun creating these marble effects and can't wait till I have another opportunity to play around with them again. I particularly love how each time you dip the paper in, you will get a completely different image than before. It was also nice to play around with such bright colours as I commonly use mostly black and whites when working digitally.
I really love how they all turned out, each creating a psychedelic sort of feel. Something which I find very interesting. I also believe it would be near impossible, or just very time consuming to create images like this completely digitally.

After I had scanned the prints, I turned them into vectors in illustrator and had a wee play around with them, see what turned out. I played around with colours and text and came up with an array of designs, from the original water marbling.

I decided to be brave and add quite a lot of colour to these designs, after some feed back on Behance. Suggesting to try and include more colour in the designs. Which I agree with and think these designs turned out great with the colour! I still keep the colour palette relatively muted though.

Website

With all the original ideas and designs I have so far I wanted to quickly put them all together in a website, just to see how things would look. I've used the website big cartel.

I do like how things are looking so far but can't help think that maybe even a little bit of colour somewhere would improve the look of things.

Logos

I have gathered some images of logos I enjoy as some inspiration for my own.

I also gathered a few more logos I enjoyed but this time they where all low poly designs, something I want to follow up in my own brand/designs/logo.

I wrote a huge list of random words and phrases to try and come up with a brand/company name. I want to keep the brand appealing to both genders. Out of the list my favourite word combination was 'Blackhoney'. So from that word I came up with the following logos.

I'm pretty pleased with how these came out, although I think my next step would be to chose my favourite couple of designs and try and push them further.

A while ago I created these skull designs with the intention of using them for my logo, although this was before I chose the name and now I don't think the skull design would be appropriate. Although I have put them into some other designs I may use for phone covers etc.

Reflection
Reflecting back to my logo work I created for my first year module (not worth posting) it gives me a great sense of achievement looking at my logo work I have created this year. Everything has improved! I've learnt a lot more program skills and how to basically create better more effective looking graphics.  Something I'm really excited about and can't wait to continue creating more!
