Hare - Media Test

After feeling inspired by other designs I have looked at previously, I quickly made up my own little design. Trying out different ideas and including some of the pictures I took. To explore some media tests, just to see what would work well together or not.

I quite liked how they came out, although now looking at them there is a lot more I want to change to them. The ones with the white hare stand out less due to the lack of contrast between fore and background, and would like to take the idea of a higher contrast image forward, perhaps making the hare outlines a bit thicker in order to give it more of a central focus.

Inspiration

I have gathered a wide range of images/designs I really enjoy and have put them together! Creating mood boards like these really helps to inspire me and get me excited to create my own work.

Water Illustrations - Media Test

I decided to test some more ideas out in illustrator, I came up with a quick illustration/design inspired by the pictures of the water I had taken (as I loved how the water looked through the images). I do like them although I think they look like a book cover (not that that is a bad thing), so not too sure on the outcome. Will need to play around with this design/idea more!

Water!

I took a few more pictures at home and I can't get over the pictures I took of the running water from the tap! I love the different shapes the water creates and it has really inspired me so much already to get designing and creating new ideas and designs!

Skulls

Since I want to create my own brand, I want to start looking at creating a logo. I've gathered some images of logos I really like, particularly black and white simple images that are relatively simple but really attract the eye and are memorable.
I'm constantly attracted to skull designs, so initially I have gone down that route. I want to try and keep the logo/brand appealing to a high range of people. So I want to try and stay away from keeping my logo/brand too feminine, which I do quite often with designs. I have come up with a quick few designs after some initial sketches done in my sketchbook.

During my initial logo process I discovered the world of low poly art and I'm very keen to adapt that style into my own designs/work. As I want to keep my range of designs/brand cohesive I think I'd rather create my logo in a low poly type of style, so continuing with the skull design I came up with a quite design which I really enjoy! I've played around with a range of colours and some with outline, some with not. I'm still in the process of development and such, so these are just early ideas and mock ups but I'm very pleased. (I'm also yet to come up with a name for the brand but for now I'm concentrating on the art).

I continued with this skull design and created a few quick patterns which I could maybe include in some of my future designs for the products I'm going to put them on.

So far I'm very pleased with these low poly style designs and I'm very keen to continue this style throughout my project.

Pictures!

I went out and took a fair few pictures of things/textures/grafitti/the ground which I thought looked interesting and inspire me to turn into illustrations and art!
So here are 160 of them...
